I came here as a guest several years ago because my former boss runs the homeless shelter in town. I was warmly welcomed and felt comfortable. After a few years I became a member. I love that my church family is truly invested in not only me, but my children. I have a disability and there is never hesitation to take one of my kids for a moment if needed. What I also love is that they notice if I'm not there. I appreciate the accountability. This church is very active in the community; we have a homeless shelter for single women and families; we have a food pantry; we have a meals ministry, and a daycare. Our pastor is passionate about reaching others for Christ and a powerful speaker. We are blessed with a congregation of people who willingly share their time and talents. I love this church for its open-mindedness - I grew up in a more "traditional" denomination so I was fascinated by the fact that women were encouraged and supported to be part of the ministry within the church - beyond the nursery or children's church! Of course there is nothing wrong with either of those things, but to feel validation and support of what you feel Jesus calling is a huge blessing. I love that we sing a mix of hymns and contemporary songs. We sit in a beautiful sanctuary surrounded by stained glass. It can get warm in the summer but no problem. We move downstairs!! This is a fully accessible church so don't hesitate to come on in - you have access to every level. Coffee in the narthex before church and some time to socialize afterwords. There is a growing youth and young adult program, and confirmation as well. We are a busy, growing, loving group of people. Come say hello!! You'll be welcomed with open arms!!
Worship here is something that is special and different. The pastor isn't afraid to talk about touchy subjects. The church is a very mission minded church and does a lot with the community. It has a homeless shelter, day care center, food pantry and a lot of other things. The environment is really warm and inviting. The building is a beautiful building with lots of wood work and stained glass.
I also really love the positive impact this church has with community outreach and support. This church really is making a difference for countless people in our community.
